Bankruptcy & Restructuring

Klehr Harrison's Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group was the firm's original practice area and is still a primary attraction to our clients today. Since the firm's inception, we have concentrated on delivering the highest quality legal services to banks and other institutional lenders in situations involving troubled loans, workouts and bankruptcies. Our attorneys have practical experience in state court collection procedures, residential and commercial foreclosures and the repossession and liquidation of collateral. We also have extensive experience in litigating lender liability matters.

From its local origins, our Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group has developed into one of the largest and most sophisticated workout, bankruptcy and collection practices in the region. The size and depth of our practice enables us to represent clients effectively in complex proceedings, while also allowing us to efficiently handle smaller cases. As our firm grows, the scope of our involvement in insolvency proceedings continues to expand. We now represent creditors' committees, indenture trustees, landlords, equipment lessors, debtors and other constituencies in cases not only within the Philadelphia region but also nationally and internationally.

From the beginning of every engagement, we use a results-oriented approach to maximize recovery for our clients, resolving problems in the shortest time possible to minimize expense. In addition to using aggressive litigation tactics, we develop creative strategies unique to each situation to accomplish our clients' goals. We recognize that our clients are often best served by restructuring troubled loans through forbearance agreements or other consensual arrangements. Our focus is always on the bottom line.

Klehr Harrison's Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group has the sophistication and expertise to handle difficult matters long before a company enters the bankruptcy arena. However, in the context of bankruptcy proceedings, our clients and colleagues tell us that we are known to be among the most aggressive in the nation - a status acquired from our ability to always put our clients' needs and objectives first.
