Klehr Harrison Names New Practice Group Leaders

New Departmental Leadership to Join New Executive Committee and Managing Partner
on Jan. 1, 2019

PHILADELPHIA (October 15, 2018) – Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg LLP (Klehr Harrison) today announced changes to its practice group leadership. These changes are part of the next phase of the Firm’s previously-announced management transition that will become effective January 1, 2019. Bradley Krouse, the firm’s incoming managing partner, along with Keith Kaplan and Michael Coran, the other two members of the Firm’s new Executive Committee, will relinquish their practice group leadership positions and their roles will be filled by new practice group leaders.

“This is part of our plan to bring other attorneys into leadership positions,” said Krouse. “Our practice groups really drive the firm and we knew it was critical to identify new practice group leadership who were dedicated and committed to pursuing our strategic plan,” he added. “We’ve been thoughtful in going through this selection process and we are excited about the people we’ve selected,” Krouse noted.

The Real Estate Department will be led by Denise Day and Stephan Cutler. They will replace Krouse. “Denise and Steve are well-respected both within the firm and by our clients,” said Krouse. “They have complementary skill sets that will make them an outstanding team.” Day focuses her practice in sophisticated real estate finance, while Cutler handles property acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and development. Both are highly-regarded practitioners and excellent mentors to their colleagues.

The new chair of the Litigation Department will be Paul Nofer. Nofer previously served as co-chair of the Litigation Department with Michael Coran for over twenty years but now will take on sole leadership of the department. “Paul is a wonderful colleague and is extremely devoted to the firm,” said Coran. “He is also an outstanding trial lawyer and teacher of trial skills, ” Coran observed. Nofer concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation, with a focus on labor and employment disputes.

The Bankruptcy/Corporate Restructuring Department will be headed by Francis (Frank) Correll, Jr. and Domenic (Dom) Pacitti. They replace Morton (Mort) Branzburg, one of the firm’s founding partners and a leader in the bankruptcy bar for more than 40 years, who along with Frank Correll was the co-chair of the group. “I have worked with Dom and Frank both for many years. They are the right team to move our practice forward,” said Branzburg. Klehr Harrison’s bankruptcy and restructuring practice consists of both traditional bankruptcy matters and commercial collection, foreclosure, workouts and restructuring. Pacitti focuses his practice on traditional bankruptcy work and he is based in the firm’s Wilmington, Delaware office. Correll practices mainly in the areas of collection, foreclosure and loan workout.

The new chair of the Corporate Department will be William (Bill) Matthews, III. Matthews will replace Keith Kaplan. “Bill has been at Klehr Harrison since he graduated law school. He is a great colleague and a talented, highly regarded corporate lawyer,” said Kaplan. “Bill will be a strong leader for our corporate group because he is known for outstanding client service and responsiveness,” he added. Matthews concentrates his practice on securities, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate counseling for a wide range of clients.

“Our new practice group leaders are all firm veterans,” noted Krouse. “They already know what we have accomplished in the past and what makes us successful. They want to help take the practices to the next level as firm leaders. We are excited about these appointments.”
