Paige M. Willan

Biography

Paige Willan focuses her practice on providing cost-effective resolutions to commercial disputes ranging from simple breach of contract issues to complex business tort and statutory claims. In addition to her commercial dispute resolution practice, she represents clients in investigations conducted by federal and state government agencies, as well as internal corporate investigations.

Before becoming a member of the bar, Paige lived and worked in Ukraine for an organization promoting public diplomacy through educational and cultural exchange. She is fluent in Russian and proficient in Ukrainian.

In July 2019, Paige was appointed to a six-year term as a member of the Pennsylvania Transportation Commission by Governor Wolf.

  • Prevailed on a motion to dismiss a hedge fund’s five claims for alleged violations of ERISA in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, on behalf of a regional bank;
  • Obtained a permanent injunction in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland on behalf of a regional bank in connection with a claim for willful trademark infringement;
  • Achieved a dismissal on the pleadings on behalf of the directors and officers of a North Carolina food and beverage distributor in a suit for breach of contract and unjust enrichment in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas;
  • Obtained summary judgment disposing of claims for fraud, breach of contract, conversion, violation of the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, trespass, and negligence brought against a distributor of recreational vehicles in the Berks County Court of Common Pleas;
  • Obtained two successive dismissals on the pleadings of claims for tortious interference with contract, the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, tortious interference with rights of inheritance, invasion of privacy, indemnity, and injunctive relief on behalf of a regional bank and an attorney in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas;
  • Represented a regional bank and its investment subsidiary in successful interpleader action involving accounts containing approximately $1.5 million in funds for which there were more than 50 claimants;
  • Litigated coverage dispute and negotiated favorable settlements of breach of fiduciary duty claims on behalf of twelve former directors and officers of a bankrupt publicly-traded insurance company and its subsidiaries; and
  • Successfully defended a petition to vacate a favorable arbitration award on behalf of a former equity partner and member of the executive committee of a dissolved national law firm.
